The Five win Cable News Twitter on Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Fox News’ “The Five” won the day before Thanksgiving with impressive numbers for its hour and the day overall.  Following The Five for best hour were Anderson Cooper, The Ed Show, Nancy Grace (a very rare appearance for her), and Hannity.  Oh what a holiday schedule will do…

CNN wins Cable News Twitter again on Tuesday with Ferguson Coverage (11/25/14)

Tuesday Morning continued the coverage of Ferguson, again throwing off the show-specific counts because of the breaking news coverage.  You can see that reflected in CNN’s overall stats, and in CNN Tonight’s.

Here’s the raw data for the day: 2014-11-25-ShowStats.csv — again, the first few hours of the day were thrown off by the breaking news.

CNN Dominates Cable News Twitter on Monday, November 24, 2014, due to Ferguson MO

CNN dominated Cable News Twitter on Monday night, driven by the strength of its coverage of unfolding events in Missouri:

Normally, I rank shows more than networks, but in this case each network was providing continuing coverage of events throughout the evening, rotating through a variety of its personalities.  This makes the by network, by hour chart the most relevant for the evening’s Cable News Twitter statistics.

The attention CNN gained on Twitter benefited two shows, CNN Tonight and AC 360, whose normal hosts were providing live coverage of events.  It was a sharp drop to number 3, Hannity.  Because of the upended schedules, you should not put too much faith in the following chart for the evening shows, but here’s the top 30:

Melissa Harris-Perry wins Cable News Twitter on Sunday, November 23, 2014

A good day for The Melissa Harris-Perry Show, as she took first and second place in the Cable News Twitter ratings.  She was followed by MSNBC’s airing of Meet The Press, both hours of Up with Steve Kornacki, and CNN’s “Black in America”:

Cashin’ In hits a new peak on Saturday, November 22, 2014 – Cable News Twitter Ratings

Saturday was an outstanding day for Cashin’ In, with more mentions than any other Saturday in August, September, October, or November (and I stopped looking before August so it could be “ever”).  I would be tempted to say this is “peak Cashin’ In”, but you know how D.C. loves to sneak unpleasant things out when no one’s looking, so I’m betting there’s something interesting awaiting us all on Black Friday …

Following Cashin’ In for best hour were The Melissa Harris-Perry Show (both hours), Up with Steve Kornacki (both hours), and Judge Jeanine.  And Cashin’ In had more mentions than all the other 5 hours combined:
