Cashin’ In Tops A Pre-Christmas Saturday’s Cable News Twitter, 12/20/13

Fox News’ Cashin’ In won a holiday-challenged weekend, leading its closest follower (Judge Jeanine) by 3 to 1 and beating its time-slot competitor, Melissa Harris-Perry, by 4 to 1.  Apart from #1 Cashin’ In and #2 Judge Jeanine, no shows could muster over 1000 mentions during their broadcast:

Other notes:

  • The Melissa Harris-Perry Show was guest hosted by Dorian Warren.
  • CNN brought back it’s “Blackfish” documentary for another run, and it got the most mentions of any CNN show on Saturday and was in 7th place overall.  Perhaps CNN felt the recent news about Seaworld make the documentary relevant again.  Or perhaps it just gets good ratings whenever it’s shown.
  • Hannity had the best day overall

Colbert continues to dominate Cable News Twitter on Friday, 12/19/14

The Colbert Report exploded on Friday after it’s finale on Thursday (which ended right at midnight EST).  The best hour count was for the 9am rerun, although odds are high that it was just general chatter at that time rather than actual viewers.  The second best hourly count was also The Colbert Report for its 6pm showing; again, this was probably just ongoing conversation rather than viewers of that specific time.  Following Colbert was The Reid Report, Rachel Maddow, and the Ed Show.  Interestingly, the first Fox News show to make the list was at #10 for 7pm’s showing of On The Record.  For all the shows, the evening was very, very quiet:

Colbert Wins Cable News Twitter on Wednesday, 12/17/14

The waning days of the Colbert Report are giving it a strong finish on Cable News Twitter and a win in both best day and best hour on Wednesday.  It was also a surprisingly weak day for the rest of Cable News on Twitter, with Colbert being followed by Hannity, a re-run of Colbert at 9am EST, Chris Hayes, and The Kelly File:
