Ebola, Ebola Czar, and Travel Bans dominate Cable News Twitter on Friday, October 17, 2014

Cable News Trending Topics for 2014-10-17

Friday was again no surprise: talk of ebola dominated cable news Twitter.  When we look further down into the trending topics, we can see that the new Ebola Czar was probably the most discussed specific ebola topic, while discussion of a travel ban was a bit further down the rankings:

Also interesting (well, barely) is that the use of #ebola (with the hash sign) is just ahead of unadorned, hash-less ebola, which indicates that that conversation about ebola is very meta-data aware.

Kelly and Hannity Win Cable News Twitter on Thursday, October 16, 2014

The Kelly file won the best hour while Hannity won best day, overall, on Thursday October 16, 2014.  Following Kelly for best hour were Hannity, Hayes, Morning Joe, and The Ed Show.  Kelly’s win was not as strong as her recent wins, however, suggesting that there are no new hot topics for her and her fans to get excited about.
