An interesting twist on Monday: Fox News’ The Kelly File had an impressive hour, with far above its or anyone else’s normal number of mentions during the broadcast. But MSNBC’s All in with Chris Hayes had the best day, also getting far more in the day than the usual best day winner.

Sunday was a lot quieter than Saturday, but still a win for The Melissa Harris-Perry Show for best hour. Hannity’s conversation ran strong through the day, giving him an easy win for best day.

A mystery is happening this weekend. My blog — this blog — normally gets under a hundred visitors a day. Sometimes there’s a burst of activity, frequently tied to the fact that I have a list of all the US Senators’ Twitter accounts — somebody has a hot button issue and tells everyone to come to my site to get their representative’s account. That’s very nice. But this weekend, Google has been visiting a lot. Not declaring itself to be a search engine, mind you, but clearly in an automated fashion thinly disguised as a user. Kind of a mixture of topics dominating the day Saturday. Blackfish is still going on strong (how long until CNN commissions Blackfish 2?). I want to call out the hashtag #wegottadobetter, which is in (partially) driven by an MC Hammer song about gun violence. It’s much more proactive than the normal hashtags that flood Twitter…
