Cable News Twitter Ratings for Saturday, June 7, 2014 — Folks got up early for Steve and stayed for Sean!

Interesting that the 8am hour of Up with Steve Kornacki managed to win the best hour — that’s early! And it shows that the right content generates the right engagement in social media.  In terms of the best day overall, Sean Hannity got the most engagement.  His show got some different slots on Saturday for his investigation into Bowe Bergdahl’s release, and so it generated a lot of talk.

It’s interesting to note that The Kelly File is getting more time on the weekends.  I’m not sure if Fox News is looking to build exposure for Ms. Kelly’s show, or reacting to the better ratings (both Nielsen’s and mine on Twitter (OK, they’re doing nothing in response to mine)) to reward her with more airtime.

Cable News Twitter Ratings for Friday, June 6, 2014 — Bill Maher wins

A rare win for Bill Maher and his news(y) show, Real Time with Bill Maher: he managed to win Best Hour, while MSNBC’s Morning Joe had the best day overall.

If you take Real Time out of race, then Megyn Kelly would have won the best hour, followed by Hannity and then Maddow.  It’s unusual to see MSNBC so slow; I guess their audience has better things to do on a Friday evening!
