CNN’s Chicagoland won the best hour on Thursday, showing the power of special programming to help revive the networks’ flagging performance. More good news for CNN: The 9pm showing of AC 360 managed to win its slot, showing the benefit of breaking (or at least mystifying) world news to attract viewers to CNN.

The irony: Ronan Farrow appeared on The Colbert Report last night and that show got more than 10 times the mentions, in a half hour, than Ronan Farrow Daily received earlier in the day. Enough mentions, in fact, to give The Colbert Report a best (half-) hour win for the day. Perhaps there’s just more millennials watching TV 11:30 at night than 1pm in the afternoon?
